Welcome

To Ballinasloe Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Frank KennedyI’m Frank Kennedy (M.A., M.Sc., M.I.A.C.P., M.I.A.H.I.P. ) and I qualified as a psychotherapist in 2017 after four years of training through Dublin City University. You may be having some difficulties in your life at present, and wondering if counselling would help you.  I hope that the information on this website will give you an idea of what happens in counselling and psychotherapy and help you decide what is best for you.  I believe that talking always helps, whether it’s for a specific problem you are facing today or difficult feelings linked to events that happened in the past.  I know from my own experience that taking the first step to meeting a therapist isn’t easy.  I’m happy to meet you to chat about any concerns or questions you have about counselling and psychotherapy.

“A person is a flowing river of change…not a fixed quantity of traits.”  Carl Rogers.

During the pandemic, Frank is meeting clients in his consultation room in Church Hill through a perspex screen. He can also meet by Zoom or phone if clients prefer.

The office is open Monday to Thursday.  I can be contacted by phone from 9am to 6pm on weekdays.  If I am engaged please leave a message and I will return your call.  Click on my contact page to send me an email.

During my training, I worked with clients in Jigsaw Galway and in Let’s Get Talking Galway on many different issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, bullying, bereavement, depression, childhood trauma, self-harm and suicidal ideation.  I have trained to work with individuals, couples and families.  I am happy to meet with you to discuss your needs so that you can decide if I am the right therapist for you.
I am accredited with the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy
